Perfect for our family!
If you are wanting to spend some quality time on Kauai with an ocean view and comfortable accommodations for your family, this is the place! As many have stated, Alihi Lani #1 is a wonderfully appointed condo with amazing views. Being on the first floor, our kids (12 and 10) walked out the slider, down the steps of the lanai, straight into the pool. My husband and I spend every morning with coffee on the lanai, and most evenings there as well. We never tired of the view, the sound of the waves, and watching the sights from our little slice of paradise.
We loved the extra touches included in the condo – welcoming coffee & cookies (!!!) and a great supply of condiments in the kitchen (no need to buy mustard or syrup or Ziploc bags – those types of things that you never know what to expect). Also a great assortment of items to use at the beach – coolers, beach towels & chairs, umbrella (although both times we took it to the beach it was too windy to use!), snorkel masks, etc. There were far more amenities provided than typically seen in a rental, which added to the enjoyment of the stay.
Being July in Kauai, it was warm and humid. There are three stand up fans in the main living area, ceiling fans in every room, and A/C units in the bedrooms. I didn’t notice much of a natural breeze coming through and the fans helped tremendously. We would turn on the AC in the bedrooms at the end of the day and close the doors to keep the cool in. After a couple days we discovered the shade that comes down at the end of the lanai to block the afternoon sun – and used it every day after!
The only ‘issue’ we had was with the WiFi. It was extremely slow and disconnected quite a bit. Cynthia tried to resolve the problem but due to timing, it wasn’t able to be fixed until after we left.
Overall, we loved our stay and definitely want to come back. When someone asked about my favorite part of the trip, I immediately thought of sitting on my lanai with that gorgeous view. We did a lot of different great activities on the island, but that view is something that was so hard to leave and will stay with me. Thank you.
